To remove limescale deposits from taps: clean the surface with pure vinegar. For heavily scaled surfaces, moisten absorbent paper with vinegar and wrap it around your taps. Leave for 15 minutes.
To maintain pipes: pour a solution of one tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda, one tablespoon of coarse salt and two tablespoons of white vinegar down them. Leave for an hour and rinse with a litre of water.
To clean and remove stains from carpets: rub the stains with a cloth soaked in white vinegar and leave for 15 minutes. Then brush with a mixture of water and washing-up liquid beaten into a lather. Finish by rinsing with clean water and wiping your carpet with a clean cloth. Leave to dry.
